Riding Club Members & British Eventing !!

What is BE80(T)?

You will find BE80(T) classes, with a maximum cross country height of 80cms, a great

introduction into the sport if you want to begin Eventing.

British Riding Clubs BE80(T) Series

BRC have been working together with British Eventing and are pleased to announce a new

Championship for 2011; The BRC BE80(T) Championships. This Eventing series is especially

for Grassroots BRC members and sees qualifiers throughout the BE calendar, culminating in a

Championship at Brooksby Melton College on 24-25 September 2011. The series will also give

BRC members a taste of BE Affiliated competitions and give them access to more competition

opportunities.

How do I qualify?

IMPORTANT: All riders wishing to be eligible for this series MUST be a BRC Member by the

date that the times are published for the qualifier event. If you are a new BRC member, please

make sure that your Clubs’ Membership Secretary sends us your membership details ASAP so

that you can be added to our database before this date.

Every section of BE80, from the 1st March to the 10th September 2011, will be a qualifier for the

BRC BE80 Championship (see date below).

BRC members and horses must be eligible to compete in BE80(T) classes (see BE Rule Book).

BRC members can take part in the BE80 series by either becoming a BE member, or by being

in possession of a BE Training Ticket. Training tickets can be purchased online from the BE

website and cost just £10 for horse and rider.

To qualify for the inaugural BRC BE80 Championship, riders must be one of the two highest

placed BRC members, achieving a clear round cross country in each BE80(T) section.

BRC members may take part in as many qualifying competitions as they wish, however, once

qualified, any subsequent qualification will pass down the line if the combination compete in any

further BE80(T) competitions.

How do I know if I have qualified?

BRC will write to the qualified riders within 14 days of the qualifying event taking place. These

details will also be published on the BRC website.

It has come to light that Patey are making a riding hat with a harness which some competitors are now buying. Please note that this hat does not conform to any standard and is not allowed in BRC competitions. This link http://www.pateyhats.com/harness-option/ shows that the hat could well be mistaken for an approved riding hat, so we all need to be aware that we may start to come across these at competitions.

At least with the introduction of hat tagging this year we should hopefully pick up on these at the Championships this year.
